A "very visual" comedy album Sep 15, 2011
By J. KEMPER
"Comedy Album Collector"
So, you know how sometimes in a comedy special the comedian will be talking about something and then demonstrate it using the timeless art of pantomime? Like how certain people walk, or dance, or gesture? And while you're watching the special, it's hilarious, because like all good physical comedy, it has a transformative effect, the performer becomes that other person, or if they're describing a situation, you feel like you're there. BUT, if you're listening to a comedy album all you get is, "So, I go....[silence while the comedian performs their pantomimetic act]" followed by roars and howls of laughter from the comedy club/theatre/arena audience. And it's kind of frustrating as a listener. Well, this happens a lot on this album. It's a good album, if you liked "I Am A Wonderful Man" you'll like this.

More Michael Ian Black humor Feb 17, 2012
By Blue This comedy album follows suit with the man's other comedic work, but the routine loses a good deal of humor in the transfer to audio. Many of his key points are conveyed in physical/visual enactments. Facial expressions, landing poses, and examination stances are lost in the crossover. The album is still very funny if, and well worth a listen, but a video recording of the routine would yield much funnier results for certain.
