"Lewis Black: The Carnegie Hall Performance" stand-up CD was recorded on September 24, 2005 at the famed Carnegie Hall in New York City. The double CD features Black's rants on topics such as his mother, religious practices, family traditions, adults' fascination with Halloween (candy corn and costumes), airline travel, adult A.D.D., New Orleans, President Bush and his mom Barbara Bush, cable news scrolls, gay marriage, cursing and more.

Given the string of troubling events that transpired in the United States in 2005, those who speak with mousy voices but still retain a high level of anger can be thankful that there's a man who shrieks constantly at the top of his lungs about those events, shredding his vocal tissue to it's thinnest: Lewis Black. This edition of Black's series of nonstop standup tirades was recorded at Carnegie Hall in September of 2005 and captures him on all eight cylinders, full-steam ahead into such subjects as Dr. Phil, Hurricane Katrina, gay marriage, and Terry Schiavo. He doesn't waiver in his delivery style at all, which is definitely a good thing for longtime fans who want to hear him at his angriest. But what separates the Carnegie Hall performance from his other work is his amazing stamina: two discs worth of profanity-laden venom that will have the most die-hard student of comedy drained by the performance's end. And if his parting shots are indicative of anything, it's that the worst is yet to come, and for Black fans that's a good thing. A simply outstanding session worthy of your total attention. ~ Rob Theakston, All Music Guide

Black leaves to much to be desired
Well how do you write a review of a know nothing hack, Black's comedy is the same run of the mill, dry, used up comedy as pretty much all wanna be comedians. Black is as funny as a ingrown hair on my ass and this paragraph is way to many words to be wasted blowing up his ego.

i haven't even seen it but lewis is funny as f**k so all is good
like i said, i haven't even seen it but there is no doubt that your co-workers will b***h

Tells it like it should be told
Great great performance. His style, his delivery has to make you explode with laughter. Doesn't pull no bulls**t, says what we all wanna say!!!

One of the Funniest Commedians Going or Coming
Based on the earlier review I actually would find an ingrown hair on Vindoc from RED LAKE , MN's ass very funny indeed. Black is a unique and insightful social commentator who happens to be hilarious! Vindoc must not like people who caustically call it like it is!

Just about the funniest ever, anywhere!
I'm bitter about two things. The first is that both Comedy Central and Lewis MISSED THE BOAT by not releasing this primo performance on DVD. Duh?? Having led a sheltered life (no cable) I'd heard his name but for "some reason I can't fathom" my broadcast homeys had spared me laughing myself near to death. Two weeks ago I caught the Carnegie Hall Performance at a friend's house and thought I'd need a trip to the hospital!! The other thing I'm bitter about is the dip (sic) from Red Lake. For sure any self respecting, ingrown hair would feel challenged on this chap's chapped ass, forget they'd need a cat scan cause likely he's ass all over!! : )
