Just got this in the mail. Love it. On "Hilarious", I think Louis CK pushes the envelope a bit farther than he did on "Chewed Up" and "Shameless". It takes some serious guts to tell some of these jokes....
Louis CK is definitely the best stand-up guy around now and best since Hicks and Kinison.
Definitely worth a purchase. You'll laugh out loud throughout his set!!

Louis CK is easily my favorite comedian working today. A friend of mine recommended that I watch his stand up and I've been hooked ever since. Nothing is off limits for him and he exudes fearlessness, qualities that only help make his material so entertaining. On "Hilarious" CK explores such topics as comparing Ray Charles to Hilter, the joys and troubles of being newly divorced, why Americans complain so damn much and various sessions of introspection and self loathing. Louis CK is not for everyone. He's very much in the same vein as Richard Pryor, and Bill Hicks so if you don't like those guys Louis CK may not be for you. Has much as I enjoyed "Hilarious" I felt that it started out a bit too slow and didn't have the best material compared to his other shows but Louis CK on an average night is better than most comedians on their best. I believe that Louis CK is the best comedian working today and the best since Bill Hicks. He's crude, and a master of cringe comedy but he's also intelligent and has a lot to say. After one joke that left the audience gasping, Louis CK states "you know..I don't know why I'm such an @$$hole. Maybe it's just funnier that way". I can't help but agree.

I discovered Louis C. K. about two years ago and have been laughing ever since. His humor is remarkably brilliant if not crass at times. It's like you know you are not supposed to laugh at some of the situational comedy that he discusses, but you can't help yourself. He has a remarkable gift for creating humor out of situations that you and I can identify with. Most of all, he is so painfully honest about the things that we face in everyday life that the listener realizes that the things that we think or do are more common than we might think. Few things make me laugh out loud even when I am by myself. This is definitely one of them.

Don't know how else to put it; Louis C.K. is amazing. Yes he is a bit obscene, but then again, everyone has their audience, and I am definitely in his demographic. You have to admire his dedication to throw out previous material and start from scratch instead of doing the same material over and over again. The only thing I can recommend is seeing Louis live. I'm not religious, but I'll be damned if watching this dude didn't help me cope with life.

I don't want to wax on forever about how awesome and special I think Louis CK is even though I want to. He is the type of person, that when you see him do stand up on TV, you feel like you know him. He says things about life that people think only they feel, and so in Louis, we find a friend. Especially when he talks about his kids- brutally honest- but that is how he is with everything. I love George Carlin so much. I truly grew up watching his HBO specials. I was a very young fan of his and really respected him for the material he did about human nature that went just a little deeper than other comedians might go. Louis CK carries George Carlin's torch in my mind. He is so funny it brings me to tears. I saw him just about a month ago live and he had all new material. During the show when he hit his stride I CRIED for a solid 10 minutes laughing so hard. He hits you in the heart. Hilarious is great. Everything he touches is great, even Pootie Tang. The only gripe I have is that I would have rather gotten the DVD so I could see him perform. Other than that, enjoy.
