I received the toy about two weeks ago just to have a little desk 'flair' around my office and I honestly say it is a worthwhile purchase. He says a lot of my favorite Bender sayings from the tv show, and just plain looks good. Most of his statements are said in Bender's usual gruffness, so the 'angry' set of eyes seems to be the most reflective of his 'mood'. The chestplate door actually opens and I plan on putting a cutout of Lucy Liu's head inside. The arms and legs are pose-able and the hands will actually let him hold slim items, like the placeholders for expansion cards for your computer. All in all, if you are a fan of Futurama and Bender, it's a great buy.

Fun and Entertaining Figure Nov 13, 2011

Being a big fan of the great "Futurama" series, when I saw this available (and read the positive reviews), I had to get one for my computer desk. Bender is nicely done with a hard plastic body, three sets of different eyes (this includes the one already attached), bendable arms and flexible legs. The door on his body opens to a shallow, empty compartment. I do wish there were some extras includesd for putting in this area, like a head in a jar or something else related to Bender. The head swivels, but unlike the robot's antennae in the series, the one on the figure is stiff plastic and doesn't bend. Height wise, he stands nearly 8 3/4" inches tall and 4 1/2" inches wide at the curved arm elbows. Of course, other than the excellent detail, the best part of the figure is the 12 phrases by John DiMaggio. Very funny and classic lines like "Well, that was dumb", "Bite my shiny metal ass!", "Goodbye losers, who've I've always hated" and "Shut the hell up!". I'd like to have a figure like this for all of the characters. I highly recommend this for all fans of Futurama.

I got this toy as a gift for my brother because he is obsessed with Bender. He think it's the best thing since sliced bread; he loves it. I played with it after he opened it and was happy with the variety of phrases and the general quality of the toy. It's definitely classic for Bender-lovers out there.

I never take my Futurama toys out of the box (*nerd alert*), but I HAD to take this one out of the box to hear what he says. It was worth taking him out, but had to order another one to keep in the box. He gets some double-takes sitting on my desk and a few laughs whenever I randomly press his button (if you can make out what he says. Plus there are some out-of-context quotes from Futurama that only a true fan would get). Pretty lightweight and flimsy for the size, but overall it's a nice toy.

Build quality is excellent and even the lid opens on bender's belly. The only thing I wish it had was a retractable antenna like the real bender.
I gave it 5 stars for education value in case you wish to teach your kids things that bender normally says.
