Its just sad, thats all
The best show to come along in years, and....Dave doesnt deliver the long awaited 3rd season in its entirety. I haven't seen this DVD, I will wait till it airs on TV where I can see it for free. I mean, we've been waiting all this time, what's a few more months...years..whatever...going to hurt? Dave, you stole our hearts, then you broke them. You're not getting any more of my money. You didn't see the creators of South Park flake out when they were a huge success and just leave their show behind with a promise they would come back did you? Mencia has taken your place and I doubt if he lets go of his show until he gets cancelled. If after Chappelle's season 2 was over you would have simply announced "that's it, thank you bitches" I think we could've respected and understood that. Instead we had to watch reruns and get lied to that there was going to be new material. Like I said, it's just sad. Congratulations on your success, Dave Chappelle, but I am no longer the devoted fan I once was. I know I am not alone when I say that I feel let down by an awesome talent I used to count on to make me laugh and forget my crummy life for a moment, while at the same time giving us all a common thread of your unique humor that unified us somehow. Above and beyond all others, you were the king. It's just sad. Sad that it ended the way it did. Hope the little bit of Season 3 is good, but theres no way in hell it could be worth the wait.

I wish I had problems like Dave Chappelle.
I wish I had problems like Dave chappelle. Good that this is being released, because it's probably hilarious.

One of the funniest DVDs I've ever seen!!!
The stuff on this DVD is more funny than season 1 and 2 put together, (Thats pretty damn funny).

A reviewer from Seoul, South Korea
Chappelle's not God
But, this should be funny. It's too bad Dave got all caught up in "***** *****" and bailed out of the show. If he were just smart enough the realize that the common thread that binds everyone together America is in BEING AMERICAN.

A reviewer from Lakewood , OH
Kansas got it right
Such a sad world it is now without chappelle. I couldnt have sad it any better than bill from kansas. Chappelle was like a light in dark TV universe and now with that light gone it just continues to get darker and darker. (not in a black way) But as was said chappelle u certainly let us down. Ill continue to wait for the third reason. Your a crazy SOB and i wait for the day that you come to your sense. Chappelles the man and he always will be.

One of the funniest dvd's I ever seen....chappelle is the funniest guy I ever seen.....a F-ing genius!

  A reviewer from Chicago
It isn't the same
There is just something sad about watching the Lost Episodes. Why didn't they just leave it alone? The first two seasons were great. I thought they would just show the episodes without the in between stuff that Dave used to do so well. I think having Charlie and the other guy try to yuck it up just makes a mockery of the whole thing.

Dirty Taint from Virginia Beach, VA
hell no
Im satisfied with the first two seasons. I don't see why people are upset with him quitting. He may have a family or something. Either that or he just can't bring it anymore. -

When keeping it real goes wrong
I could see it coming...remember the wayne brady sketch? Im suprised they didnt have him fill in for dave for the last 2 seasons or until dave change his mind i seen the 1st episode on tv sunday and it was funny...$10,000 for a fade hell naw...like biggie said mo money mo problems dave i feel u n**** but my fat black ass misses you funny jokes this show is genius but i guess u keeping it real like a cople skits and i guess it went wrong cuz you sold uout to yo fans I wonder if charlie murphy had any other true hollywood stories like the funniest episode ever like IM RICK JAMES BIIITCH!! that s**t was so funny. block party was aiight but dave please change yo mind and come back i wonder who f****d u up like that and what they did so they need to be beat down straight up like that. of course i cant relate cuz I'M BROKE BITCH!!!!

Funniest man alive
Altough dave isnt doing the chappelle show anymore he will still remain one of the funniest comics alive. ... GOOD BY FRIED RICE HELLO FRIED CHICKEN...

Get over it people
I can't believe the whining of some people...as if Dave Chappelle has some duty to make them laugh or come back for a third season because he 'promised'. What he did was great stuff. Better to have it go out that way than to have it fizzle into nothing. Perhaps Dave might agree, what a bunch of spoiled, ignorant, punk ass bitches. Love to everyone.

  Undacuvah Brutha from Austin, TX
Kansas and Ohio???
Somehow I think neither one of you understand the social pressure Dave was under. He never wanted fame and fortune, just to make people laugh, and more importantly, THINK. When the pressures of doing the show outweighed his reasons for doing it...he walked away.

  Latricia from Hawthorne, CA
Still the Man!!!!!!!
Dave Chappelle was still is a ******* genius. Yes, it's sad the way his show ended but common sense would tell anyone that Dave was just "keeping it real". I'm proud of him for not letting it be all about the benjamins. As long as he is happy, I'm happy for him. He makes us laugh no matter what he's does. I'll always be his fan because I simply love that crazy *** man. Besides, HE'S STILL RICH *****!

There was an interesting link
The link explained how Dave was being threatened by various African/American celebrities because of his sketches that didn't show African Americans in the best light. Sketches such as the Clarence Bigsby the Black White Supremist, the "N" Family, Tyron Biggums the crackhead, etc. The link was over 15 pages long and gave a well defined time line, described in great detail by a former employee of Daves, and as earlier mentioned, was a link found on a friend's website, who also co-stared with him on Half Baked. Given the info and time line, found on a friend's website, with details about how he and his Families life were threatened and how the pack of celebrities threatening Dave were upset that he wasn't giving anything back to his people, hence "Block Party". I don't blame you Dave. If someone was threatening my Family, I'd bail out, too. Of course it is your fans that pay the price. Jello and "O" never made me laugh. Hope you make that movie for "Animal Planet", bitch.

  Ron from McHenry, IL
Will the delay be worth the wait?
Bill must not be a true Chappelle fan if he is letting Chappelle go. I watch Half Baked every night because I can't get enough of him when I'm h*gh. Anyways Chappelle is back with the "Lost Episodes". I'm just glad to see some new work from Mr. Chappelle. Also in the last couple weeks of this month Chappelle was on a mini tour. He went to Florida and I believe somewhere around Atlanta too. He is back from Africa and I hope the DVD of his latest tour comes out soon. I'm waiting for his new work to start and I'm very excited. I hope there will be a Season 3, but if there is not I still look forward to his Stand-Ups.

  Ritvars from Jurmala, Latvia
Outstanding
Each episode brings lot's of laughter and fun, it's the best comedy show ever. Of course sad it only lasted for two years, but i'm sure Dave will make something new, cause he's got the talent nobody else has.

  Jared from San Diego, CA
Not his best - not by a long shot
What's this crap about rumors, something about Chappelle being threatened to quit? Are you effing serious? Do you ever read a newspaper? Did you read the esquire article? Did you see him on inside the actors studio? He's told the damn story plenty of times. Stop trying to make crazy excuses for why your hero isn't doing the show anymore. He didn't feel right about the direction about the show, he didn't want to make people laugh just for the hell of it and make people forget there's stuff really wrong in the world. He didn't want his comedy to be comprimised, and he felt that the direction the network wanted him to go was that of "dumb" humor, rather than socially conscious, witty, subversive humor. Plus, if you got a contract and then everything you liked about your life: your job, your friends, your associates, your relative privacy - CHANGED OVERNIGHT - you'd probably have to be a straight up money w***e to continue doing something that made you miserable. Some of you might disagree with that assertion, but then you might want to take a long hard look at your own priorities and whether or not your "game plan" is to be happy in life or merely to have material comforts. The two are not one and the same, people.

  Epik-86 from Langley, BC

Its a real sad thing that Dave decided to leave the show but this dvd is worth the money. I recommend buying it even if your BROKE BIOTCH! BYAAAH!

  Leo from Fort Wayne, IN
Do you not read?
The reason why he left was in TIME magazine awhile ago. When he was shooting scenes for the stereotype inforcing pixies, someone on the set seemed to laugh a too hard at the jokes. Instead of stereotypes being reinforced Dave wanted to uplift them.

Matt in NY from Brewster, NY
Any Dave Chappelle is GREAT comedy!
Hey, I think it's sad--for us-- that Dave quit the show. However, I think he did the right thing for himself. If it was going to make him miserable then he did the right thing to quit. I have seen two of the Lost Episodes on TV so far and they are very funny! There's a little too much time spent on his new found fortune from Comedy Central but Dave's acting and timing are totally convincing. You'd never know he was so unhappy at this time--he can really act! His peers also do a great job and the skits are really enjoyable. Good luck in the future, Dave!

  Gus from Miami, FL
Genius
Yea...its sad, But Dave Chappelle is STILL da funniest mutha***** i have ever seen. I believe what Dave did was the right thing...for him. Dave, if u ever want to come back, your true fans will be right here waiting...BY-AAAAH!

What i Think
Dave Chappelle is the funniest man alive...his decision of leavin is his decision, not our decision..it jus sux that he's leavin though. He shoulda jus kept goin with his comedy but that's jus wut i think

  A reviewer from fairborn, ohio
Mind of Mancia Sucks A??
There can never be a replacement for The Chappelle's Show. At least Dave knew how to tell better jokes. And the Blue Collar Comedy is just as funny, but The Chappelle's Show is the best. Mind of Mancia needs better writers... Maybe Dave Chappelle can help Mancia...

  Jay from Dayton, OH
Dave was right
I still have not heard a satisfactory explanation for why Chappelle walked away. Whatever the reason, Dave is gone so ultimately it doesn't matter. It was his show, it's his life. Be glad we got what we got - two seasons of phemomenal comedy. (If you were a fan of the original UK version of The Office, you only got half of what Chappelle fans got!) Based on the quality of what I've seen of these so-called "lost episodes" aired thus far on Comedy Central, Dave was right to walk away. Either the ideas needed to be fleshed out more or they were flawed to begin with. Had Chappelle stayed and was allowed time, we undoubtedly would have gotten another outstanding full season of the show. As these episodes stand, they're almost a detriment to the legacy of one of the best sketch comedy series of all time. Nevertheless, they'll complete your collection and satisfy your need for more Chappelle's Show. Plus, I'd rather watch subpar Chappelle than any 'reality' show. F**k yo couch!!

Everbody knows Dave is the best. He has succeeded in bringing many people together through the art of comedy and is a genius. It takes cajones to walk away and be true to yourself, and I give him much respect. Keep it Reel Chapelle

Color Up and Leave
Dave must have been a gambler at one time. He had two winning seasons--hit the jackpot and made the big bucks. Then he felt the atmosphere of the game changing and the dice going cold so he colored up his chips and walked away a winner. Season 3 lost episodes are just the chips he tipped the dealer with...thanks for the tips Dave! The dealers appreciate it very much!

Fan for Life
Too many people are all up in Dave's business and should deal with there own. I will miss his show but it was his decision to leave and he should be respected for his decision. I was blessed to see him in person last year and was very blessed because I sat up front. He really enjoyed his self and I think that was the problem with his show. He stopped enjoying his self. Dave, keep doing what you are doing and if you decide to go back to television. You will see how many people really love you and you can say what you want without the bleeps. Love you Dave.

He's just real.
He's just real. There's no other way to put it out there. He just KEEPS IT REAL. This is how i think all the magic happens. I think that Dave and his buddies sit down and have conversations(whilst doing other mildly illegal activities...lol 420!) Only, he takes the crazy things that come up as a topic of conversation while they are all sitting back and just bull shitting and makes them into an act. He acts it out because he has a valid argument and he knows people will laugh at it. The things he does would surely run through my mind, but damn he makes it so much funnier. To sum things up, DAVID CHAPPELLE PUTS IT DOWN!!! HE RULES THE STAGE AND WHEN HE DOES, ALL EYES ARE ON HIM!!!! NICE JOB CHAPPELLE!!

William (not to be confused with Bill) from Kansas City, MO
That smells WILE!!!
In case you see this, Dave, I've watched since episode one, and I soon came to feel that what you were doing was a public service...and I still do. I think people will realize that someday and the show will be talked about for a long time to come. For what it's worth, I think you should be proud of yourself. If I ever see you, I got a hug for you, mang.

Pixie sketch
This DVD is great just as any other Chappelle DVD but I noticed when I was watching the Pixie sketch on T.V. it showed 2 pixies when they did the black pixies and on the DVD theres only 1, why is that?

William aka Sexy Bitch from Atlanta, GA
funny s**t!!!
the chappelle show is funny as hell and i would say he is the funniest man alive cause he speaks the truth and all the reporters need to get off his nutsack and let him do what he do...

  vin from norristown
this man is a genious
Dave Chappelle is a mastermind. He is the funniest person alive. He has everyone talkin about his show and is a pioneer for new comedy. I personally love watching the show because it is laugh out loud funny. Daves skits were all my friends and I talked about and joked around with. Dave needs to comeback.

  Jeremiah Edmonds from chipley, Fl

  Anica from Minneapolis, Minnesota
Damn, it's good. Can't nobody do it like Dave.
This brotha can't sing, but damn, he can act. Everything he says is funny. If any body else says it, it's not funny. No one can do and say the things he can and have humor in it, but him. Dave, why man. You brought me out of a funky attitude when I was not happy. I watched your shows and damn, I laughed and laughed and even brought that humor to work, where I became very popular because of your humor. They started to call me Chapelle. I loved it. Poeple might say that Mencia is a spanish Chapelle, but nobody can do it the way Dave can. Come back, man. Hey, if the money that you think will drive you crazy, give it to my black broke a**. I'm broke b*tch...LOL.LOL.LOL

  joe from bellmore, NY
funny
DAVE is the funniest guy in tv all me and my friends do is talk about him. BYYYAAAA

  A reviewer from ny/vegas
the monsters. f**king brilliant!
I have checked out the Lost Episodes a few times at this point. Number one, some people are unduly harsh. I am a drummer/performer..been in high pressure situations where money guys are demanding creativity like it's a turn of a faucet. Not easy...The Lost Episodes to me, hang right in there and, I think, contain some of the best s**t ever. Number two-If you like Young Frankenstein, Airplane, Dumb And Dumber, basically parodies of stereotypes, slapstick...this writing to me-especially in the Monsters(genius) is solid.

  A reviewer from bronx
WOULD HAVE GIVEN HIM LESS IF I COULD
Whats wrong with this guy he cant be funny anymore cause theres 50 million dollers on the line? a real comedian at heart would continue to make more seasons, because he loves comedy and doesnt care about money, not cause hes scared of 50 million dollars. besides even if it would be the worst 2 seaons of any shows who cares u just pocketed 50 million.

Don from Frisco, CA (now I live across that bridge)
TV Needs U Dave
Hands down the most funniest "tish" I ever seen. The show needs Chappelle though. I've seen Charlie Murphy's stand up routine here in Frisco and he's damn funny too, but Dave makes it all come together. If you read these reviews Dave please come back to TV. Besides you all I watch is the news, sports, and the Food Network. I need Dave son, nothin else on TV son. Make a new season of episodes Dave. Comedy Central give the man what he wants. He's Dave Chappelle b*tches. I'm out! P.S.- I wrote this song a long time ago!

Mac T. from GA but livin' in VA
It is what it is!
First and foremost, thanks Dave. A lot of people expected too much of you. You’re a comedian and your job is to make us laugh, which you did and quite brilliantly I might add. With that being said, your comedy also made us think on social, racial and political issues. “Some people” can’t take the truth. Hint…..Hint….! When that truth began to spread so rapidly around the world your power was recognized and feared. Nas said it best, “People fear what they can’t understand, hate what they can’t conquer, I guess that’s…..you know the rest. We only get a few seconds of fame and your mark was embedded in all our minds. Especially the haters! Your stand up is just as good. Here’s an idea, what’s up with a young heads Kings of Comedy? You, Martin, Chris tucker if he ain’t on that no cussing sh1t no more and Ced. I know he was on the first one but he’s funny as hell. Ashy Larry and Charlie can do a show together. They’re funny too and in closing, any true fan of your show will know that the best skit of all time was the Rick James and Charlie Murphy True Hollywood story. You did Rick his justice just before his untimely death. Thanks Yo! HOLD MY DRINK B*TCH!

  A reviewer from Columbus, OH
Pixie sketches could've gone, not the funniest.
I like this DVD a lot but I didn't know Dave didn't give permission to air these sketches until after I had already bought it. And to be very honest, the pixie sketches weren't the funniest bits. They could've gone (along with the Monsters sketches) and the show could've continued. They weren't pivotal sequences in the success of the show hell, the Howard Dean BYAAAAAAH! and the Tupac Video sketches were much funnier than the pixies. And BTW: Dave leaving the show had nothing to do with $50mil so I wish you who are uninformed would stop saying that. It had to do with Dave questioning the direction of the show and the public's perception. Don't come back unless you get it your way, Dave. Even though I will miss Chappelle's Show, I support your decision 100% (unlike most of your so-called fans).

  HoneyyLuvv from Yay Area California
Hilarious! Hella Funny!!!
All I can say is Dave is in a league of his own! HE is in the ranks of Richard Pryor and Lenny Bruce two of the most cutting edge comedians of their time. Now Dave makes three. He is the most cutting edege comedian of his time. This is a must have DVD if you have the other two. I have to say Dave PLEASE come back! I hope a brother can work it out. I love u Dave because you keep me laughing! Peace Blessings to you
