Readers who remember last year's reviews know that every Christmas means more Beavis and Butthead stuff for my boy, and this year, this was the first item I ordered as Christmas shopping technically kicks in for those of us who start early for whatever reasons (ours is always medical issues keeping us busy at the worst possible time, and so we're not greedy, just organized!).
So...I actually was a bit concerned about the quality level of this item, as it seemed like too good a price for a lava lamp with the two B Boys on it - collectors know that B&B merchandise is sometimes difficult to come across, but the series starting up again last year will hopefully change that. I took a gamble, sent the order in, and the lamp came yesterday....
And IT'S GREAT, REALLY! For a relatively bargain price, my son has a pretty funky lava lamp for his collection, and the 'lava', while it isn't of the quality and 'thickness' (for lack of a better word) as the lava lamps of my late '70s' teendom, it's at least a B, maybe an A-. It takes awhile for the lamp to warm up, and I wouldn't suggest running the item for hours on end....but for the money, it's a good deal. I know that many of these items are collector items, anyhow, and some will never be used...my son knows that this is was an early Xmas gift, and so he's already got it up on his shelf next to his Family Guy Stewey strobe lamp, and that one seldom is turned on, either, which is how he likes it. =)
Oh, and we steered clear of the South Park ones on this site because reviews were not too great about colors, quality, etc., but the colors in the illustrations on this lamp seem to be clean and crisp; I saw no sign of 'flaking', blurring out, etc.
Lastly, this lava lamp comes in a really great oversized cartoon covered 'tube'; Gannon was as happy about that, almost, as he was the lamp.
As a parent to another parent, I'd suggest it, and as a parent to a kid maybe spending some of his hard earned savings...I think it's a good deal, and you'll be glad you bought it.

This lava lamp is a substanial size, and also very unique. The product was just as described by the seller and works wonderfully. It was a gift and the teenager actually loved the gift!

Bought this for my Son who loves lava lamps. He likes the theme and uses it but, not as good as some of his other lava lamps. He is 13 and its okay for him.
